I love our yarn industry!!!

June 23, 2010

We just got back from TNNA and what a show! If you ever get the chance - do it. It is so energizing - it reminds you why you are so passionate about this industry. People are warm, welcoming, sharing. The fibers and yarns are to die for! The fashion show was awesome as always - lots of more classic looks. Cables, rich colorways, texture. We had the chance to meet and talk to lots of our shops - it's always wonderful to be able to put a face to the names we talk to on the phone. One booth (I don't remember which!) was handing out the color trends for fall - rich, vibrant hues of greens, russets, purples, earthy tones. But not muted or dowdy - they are clear saturated colors. I still saw quite a bit of the popular 'acid green' in various booths. Then there was the 'blingy' yarns - sparkle, beads, sequins. Seemed to be used as accents, to add flair and drama to a simple shape. Of course there was a lot of emphasis on natural yarns - minimum processing, eco-friendly, organic. We totally enjoyed every minute of the show, and feel really blessed to be fortunate enough to be in this industry that we love!
