Knitting Stash Cleanup

June 29, 2010

It's offically summer here in Idaho. I have started one of my summer rituals - cleaning my fiber stash. It started to get overwhelming - so much yarn, needles, patterns - that I was getting discouraged. Then I ran across a really GOOD quote - "Uncluttering isn't about having the fewest things, it's about having the right amount of things for your life" (http://unclutterer.com) And I realized that, for me, having a large stash is the right thing for my life. I work in the fiber industry, I knit, I crochet, I weave, I spin, I own a yarn shop, I write about the industry, I create patterns, I teach. My life is wrapped up in yarn and fiber. It makes me happy. And, if I die tomorrow - someone else will just have to deal with my stash - I won't care!
